Welding and Fabrication III

In this course the student will build upon their prior learning in Level II and pipe welding in all positions (2G, 5G, and 6G) will be introduced. Students will learn basic pipefitting techniques as well as how to sleeve, peel, and plug pipe ranging from 2" outside diameter, up to 8" in diameter. Advanced blueprint reading, drawing and design, billing of materials, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Performance Qualification Records (PQR's) will also be covered. Students will engage in advanced layout and fabrication processess to create projects for the community and engage in the SkillsUSA student organization, which incorporates leadership, service learning, and competitions to demonstrate skill level attainment.
