Welding and Fabrication II
Welding and Fabrication II students will have the opportunity to further develop and refine what they learned in Level I. They will practice utilizing different materials such as mild steel, stainless, and aluminum, and their proficiency will be assessed through both visual and destructive testing techniques. They will identify the physical and mechanical characteristics of these metals, demonstrate pre and post heating, and identify equipment and filler metals utilized in these processes. Throughout the year students will have the opportunity to work on and create more advanced welding projects for the community as well as engage in the SkillsUSA student organization. Students who do not successfully complete in the first semester with a passing grade may not be allowed to continue in the second semester.
Students must also successfully complete Welding II with an average grade of a "C" or better and have instructor recommendation in order to be eligible for Welding III.
