Automotive Engines and Emissions
This comprehensive course provides an in-deph exploration of automotive engine diagnosis, service techniques, and emissions control systems. Students will gain a solid foundation in understanding engine operation and performance, learning to identify common issues through diagnostic tools and methodologies. This course aligns with and includes the following ASE Content:
- ASE 1030: General Engine Diagnosis- Students will learn the principles of engine operation, diagnostic techniques, and the use of advanced diagnostic tools. Emphasis will be placed on identifying engine performance issues and developing effective troubleshooting strategies.
- ASE 1034: Automotive Emissions- This segment covers the fundamentals of automotive emissions systems, including the impact of emissions on the enviroment and the importance of compliance with regulatory standards. Students will engage in hands-on training with emissions testing equipment and learn how to diagnose and repair emissions-related issues.
- ASE 1062: Auto Engine Service- In this part of the course, students will gain practical experience in servicing and repairing engines. Topics include engine assembly, disassembly, and maintenance procedures. Safety protocols and best practices for engine service will be emphasized.
By the end of this course, students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform effective engine diagnostics and service, ensuring vehicles operate efficiently and meet emissions requirements. This course is ideal for aspiring automotive technicians and those looking to enhance their skills in the automotive field, preparing them for ASE certification and careers in the automotive industry.
