Advanced Automotive (Fall 2025)
This comprehensive course delves into some of the other advanced systems in automotive technology. Students will explore the design, function, and diagnostic procedures of automotive computer systems, ignition components, and fuel injection systems. Key topics include:
- Understanding onboard diagnostics, control modules, and sensor integration in vehicle performance.
- Examination of various ignition types, including distributor and distributor-less systems, and the principles behind ignition timing and troubleshooting.
- Detailed anaysis of fuel delivery methods, including port fuel injection and direct injection, along with the impact of fuel systems on engine performance and emissions.
- Overview of emission control technologies, regulations, and diagnostic techniques to ensure compliance and optimal vehicle operation.
Through a combination of theoretical instruction, hands-on labs, and real-world applications, students will develop the skills necessary to diagnose, repair, and optimize advanced automotive systems. This course is a ideal for aspiring automotive technicians seeking to enhance their knowledge and competencies in these high-demand areas of the industry.
