On Friday, November 1st, Video Production students from CETC participated in the Denver Film Festival High School Days in downtown Denver.
At the event they participated in sessions presented by current filmmakers, studio owners and other professionals in the field. In one of the sessions, for instance, students re-created a scene from Men in Black to emphasize the importance of using an external microphone to capture better sound. Students got the opportunity to be boom mic operators and hear the difference that a good microphone can make.
In addition, students screened one of the films from the festival entitled Pahokee: a documentary following a year at a rural high school in Florida. After the screening they had the opportunity to participate in a q and a session with the filmmaker.
